Magpie Season focuses on 'orbital' objects, the free materials found on the side of the road in common resource pools. I moulded grass paper to hold the shape of a bike helmet and positioned them on milkcrate plinths. Easily found and 'borrowed' these ubiquitous materials demonstrate how devalued objects lead to resource accumulation in cycles of abandonment. Discarded from their intended affordances, they become roving matter amongst the fixed architectures of public space.
